The rich texture of the Bangalore silk lends a touch of opulence to the ensemble, while the intricate Kantha stitch work adds a unique artisanal charm. The meticulous craftsmanship is evident throughout the saree, with the Kantha stitch work adorning every inch of the body, creating a mesmerizing tapestry of patterns and motifs. The attention to detail extends to the pallu, where the beauty of the saree truly shines, featuring intricate designs that captivate the eye and evoke a sense of tradition and heritage.
SILK CARE:
1) Washing: preferably dry-washing or gentle hand-washing (not to be done regularly).
NOTE: Only washing-machines with the option of ‘delicates’ or ‘handwashing’ options can be used. Please use a mesh bag or pillow case to protect the damage that might be caused by the drum. Use cold water. A cool cycle rather than warm one is preferable
2) Drying: air-drying (avoid exposure to direct sunlight). Avoid drying methods such as tumble drying, as it can cause the shrinkage and damage to fabrics. Hang or lay-flat the saree in any shaded area. Do not twist or squeeze the saree.
3) Storage: The saree should be stored in a cool storage and dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Preferably hanging the garment properly can avoid wrinkling and damage of the delicate threads used for woven saree.
4) Ironing: Low-heat setting of iron is preferred in extreme cases where ironing is necessary. Steam ironing is preferred (please maintain a 2–3-centimetres distance between the hot steam). An extra layer of protection can be added between the iron and saree to prevent any damage to the fabrics and maintain its longevity.
Special Instructions:
- · Change the folding of the saree once in a while in case it is not worn regularly. It can help in air drying and maintaining the strength of the silk.
- · To prevent moth and fungus, naphthalene balls can be used but direct contact with fabrics should be avoided as it can lead to discoloration in many cases. Dry neem leaves can also be used as natural disinfectant against mold and fungus.
- · Breathable bags can be used to store the sarees as well. Take care to avoid rust in mental hangers in case they are used to hang the silk sarees.
